At Ingrain’d, I believe the craft of woodturning is at its best when it’s shared. Whether you are looking for an engaging evening for your club or a deep dive into your own technique, I offer a range of ways to get involved.
1-to-1 Personal Tuition
Tailored to your lathe, your experience, and your ambition. In my opinion, there is no substitute for focused, individual attention. My 1-to-1 sessions are designed to cut through the "noise" and get you making shavings with confidence.
Beginners: Master the fundamentals of tool safety, sharpening, and basic spindle and bowl turning.
Intermediate/Advanced: Let’s tackle some of your specific challenges. It might be holding work on the lathe, working with wet timber, mastering shape and form, thin-wall turning or decorative textures. Let me know how I can help you.
The "Surprise" Session: Bring that "mystery blank" you’ve been saving, and we’ll figure out how to reveal its best features together.
Sessions are held in my studio (or your workshop by arrangement).
All tools and safety gear can be provided.
Club Demonstrations
Technique, Technology, and the "Ingrain’d" Philosophy. I love hitting the road and visiting woodturning clubs. My demonstrations aren’t just about making a finished piece; they are about the why behind each cut, not just the how.
Dynamic Demos: I cover everything from craft stall staples to more traditional forms and finishing techniques.
Interactive Q&A: I’m always happy to discuss all aspects of my woodturning experience, especially when you can learn from any mistakes I’ve made in the past.
